Skim Coat 102 Gator is a white ready-to-use polymer specifically designed for both decorative and repair purposes in thin coat applications. Ideal for concealing imperfections such as rough marks, small cracks, small holes, grain surfaces, and seam joints on concrete or plaster surfaces. The product delivers a smooth, wallpaper-like finish that is ideal for painting or further decorative touches. Suitable for use on interior walls and ceilings.

Application Instruction

Substrate Preparation:

New substrate:

  • Allow the wall to fully dry for 28 days after plastering.
  • Ensure that the surface is clean and free from dust, cement debris, and grease before applying Crocodile Skim Coat 102 Gator.
  • Apply the first layer of skim coat and allow it to dry for 2-3 hours before applying the next layer, depending on weather conditions.
  • Apply Crocodile Skim Coat 102 Gator to achieve the desired thickness and allow it to dry completely for at least 24 hours.
  • Smooth the surface by sanding with sandpaper and wipe off the dust from scrubbing.
  • Strengthen the adhesion by applying primer and letting it dry for 2-3 hours before applying the topcoat.

Old/Damaged Substrate:

  • Prepare the surface by scrubbing off the deteriorated original color. If the surface has fungi and algae, apply Crocodile Biocidal Wash and leave it for 7 days to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Restore the surface condition by applying at least one coat of cement primer to enhance adhesion (especially on dusty surfaces). Allow it to dry completely for 1-2 days before proceeding.
  • Apply the first layer of Crocodile Skim Coat 102 Gator and allow it to dry for 2-3 hours before applying the next layer.
  • Allow the Crocodile Skim Coat 102 Gator to completely dry for at least 24 hours, then smooth the surface by sanding and wipe off the dust thoroughly before painting the next layer.

Application:

  1. Open the lid, stir Skim Coat 102 Gator well and it is ready to use.
  2. Apply Crocodile Skim Coat 102 Gator with a steel or putty trowel on the desired surface area.
  3. If re-plastering, allow the first layer to dry for at least 2-3 hours before applying the next layer.
  4. If the plastered surface is not smooth, use a sanding plate to polish it as needed once it has dried.
  5. Apply the next layer of paint as desired.

Estimated Coverage:

0.5-1.5 kg / sq.m / 1 mm thickness (depends on the smoothness and porosity of the substrate)

Recommendation:

  • Protect the plastered area from high humidity or intense heat for at least 24 hours after application.
  • Do not use Crocodile Skim Coat 102 Gator for floor work.
  • Avoid using in areas subject to constant immersion or high humidity.
  • It is not recommended to leave the products exposed.

Caution:

  • Paste may cause injury to skin or eyes. Use of rubber gloves, dust masks, eye protection, and other safety equipment is recommended.
  • If contact with eyes occurs, flush immediately and repeatedly with water, and then contact the doctor immediately.
  • Avoid contact with skin. Wash thoroughly after handling.
  • Keep out of reach of children.
  • For exterior wall application, it is recommended to apply paint over, and not to leave it bare.

Storage:

  • It should be kept in a dry place and the temperature is not too high to avoid product’s degradation.
  • Shelf life for 1 year since manufactured date.
